Online rumor sparks fear Great Adventure is closing Kingda Ka roller coaster

It is the online rumor striking fear in the hearts of thrill-seekers around New Jersey – is Kingda Ka, one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world, going to be shut down and demolished?

The question has been trending on social media for days.

News 12 New Jersey is looking into the fate of the Great Adventure attraction.

Six Flags has not put in for any permits to take the roller coaster down. However, it does have permits to demolish Green Lantern and a few other smaller rides.

News 12 has reached out to the park for further information but has not heard back.
