Officials say a United Airlines plane made a safe landing at Newark Liberty International Airport just after 8 p.m. Saturday night.
One of the plane's tires blew off during takeoff and flew into an engine, causing a fire. Officials say the plane circled the airport to burn off all of its fuel before landing.
The Berlin, Germany-bound plane had 173 passengers on board.
