Officials say a man was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train Monday morning.
The man, whose name was not released, was struck just before 7:30 a.m. by a Pascack Valley line train just west of the Park Ridge station. It wasn't immediately clear why he was on the tracks.
There were 180 people aboard the train, which had departed from Spring Valley, New York and was headed to Secaucus.
The incident caused a temporary service suspension in both directions. No one aboard the train was injured.
