A 24-year-old Vineland woman was convicted Friday of intentionally striking and killing her girlfriend with a vehicle in Millville in 2024, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
Breanna Rowley was found guilty of murder following a two-week jury trial in Atlantic County Superior Court. She was also convicted of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a fatal crash, endangering an injured victim, two weapons offenses, obstruction, hindering apprehension and evidence tampering.
Prosecutors said Rowley intentionally struck Caroline Bump, 21, of Millville, while Bump was standing in the roadway near 701 Glenside Road around 11:15 p.m. Oct. 21, 2024. The two women were dating at the time.
After striking Bump, Rowley stopped about 100 yards down the road, got out of her vehicle and walked back toward the area where Bump had been hit, according to prosecutors. She then returned to her vehicle and drove away without seeking help.

Bump's body was discovered about 2 1/2 hours later by a passing vehicle.
Prosecutors said Rowley drove her damaged vehicle to a residence in Monroeville, Salem County, where she hid it in a nearby farm field. She later attempted to repair the damage before investigators located the vehicle Oct. 24, 2024.
Rowley faces 30 years to life in state prison, with a mandatory minimum of 30 years before parole eligibility, according to prosecutors.
The trial was held in Atlantic County because Bump worked for the Cumberland County Probation Department.
