Officials say a man who was critically injured after falling into a volcano in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has been upgraded to stable condition.
The man, who is a soldier stationed nearby, apparently jumped over a railing at a popular lookout spot before losing his footing and falling in.
The man didn't go all the way down the 300-foot drop because of a ledge that was only about two-feet wide.
Rescuers had to use a ropes system to get him out.
