Officials: Boy pulled from water unresponsive at Indian Well State Park in Shelton

A boy was pulled unresponsive from the water Monday afternoon at Indian Well State Park, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Shelton Fire Department.
Officials said the incident happened around 4 p.m. The boy reportedly entered the water from the boat launch dock and appeared to be in distress shortly after.
DEEP staff entered the water and recovered the unconscious child, with assistance from Shelton police and the Shelton Fire Department. CPR was performed on site, officials said.
The boy was transported by ambulance to Griffin Hospital and later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital for further treatment.
His condition was not immediately known.
Officials said the boy’s mother was also taken to the hospital.
