A New York City man faces charges after allegedly sparking a police chase with a stolen car across Westchester County, according to county police.
The incident began around 1 p.m. Sunday when local departments received reports of a stolen vehicle with a Massachusetts license plate on the Cross County Parkway. Officers spotted the car and attempted a stop, but the driver, identified as 36-year-old Antonio Trusty, sped off, initiating a pursuit.
The chase stretched onto the Hutchinson River Parkway, I-95 North, and the Playland Parkway, where Rye police joined in.
Trusty veered off-road through properties owned by Rye residents and the American Yacht Club, hitting a county police car and a Connecticut resident’s vehicle.
He struck a tree, briefly tried to flee on foot, and was arrested. Trusty faces charges including criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief, and unlawful fleeing, plus four traffic summonses from Rye police for leaving the scene without reporting.
