The number of police officers killed in the line of duty has spiked this year.
A new analysis by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund shows that 135 officers were killed as of this week nationwide.
Some died in traffic accidents, such as New Jersey State troopers Frankie Williams and Sean Cullen.
But nearly half of the officer deaths were due to violence.
It's a 56 percent increase over 2015.
