A naked photograph of a Reynolds Middle School student has created an uproar at her Mercer County school.
According to parents, school officials confiscated students' cell phones in an attempt to stop the transmission of the snapshot. The girl allegedly took a photograph of herself showing full-frontal nudity before it was forwarded to other students and leaked throughout the school.
Police and school officials are keeping quiet about the situation, but Hamilton Township police did organize a district-wide meeting Tuesday on Internet safety. That meeting was set up prior to the photograph incident.
New Jersey state police want teenagers and young adults to know pictures uploaded to the Internet are there for life.
"Once you post a picture of yourself or someone else or you post something inappropriate to a Web site or a blog, it's documented, it's going to be archived, and it's gonna be out there for people anytime," says Det. Cy Bleistine.
