New Jersey residents are wading through water today as a nor'easter dumps several inches of rain and bring gusty winds.

Forecasters report 50 mph winds and a storm-surge between 3 and 5 feet. Snowfall is predicted for the northwest part of the state. About 250 trucks are ready to plow and spread salt on highways, if needed.

New Jersey residents are already feeling the effects of the storm. Traffic is inching along on many roadways. Officials urge motorists to take public transportation and to be cautious if they must drive.

The rainfall is part of a storm system that blew across the Gulf Coast Friday and Saturday.
