According to a new national study, New Jersey streets are among the most dangerous in the nation for older pedestrians.
The study, released by the Tri-State Transportation campaign, looked at pedestrian deaths over the course of three years. It revealed that 130 pedestrians over the age of 60 died while walking on New Jersey streets.
That number is lower than previous years, but still higher than the national average.
The study shows that many of the deaths occurred on roadways that had no support mechanisms for pedestrians.
