Pet grooming businesses in New Jersey can now reopen after Gov. Phil Murphy deemed them essential businesses on Monday.
Under the governor’s decision, businesses that provide pet grooming, day care, and boarding can open, provided they still adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Beauty salons or barbershops were not permitted to reopen. Murphy said that barbers and stylists cannot provide these services to customers in their own homes or customers’ homes. The only exception would be to provide services to a family member.
