Morris County authorities have identified the victim in a homicide under investigation in Chester Township as 35-year-old Brooke Hanlon of Chester.

Emergency medical personnel and Chester Township police responded to a 911 call at a home on Pottersville Road during the late afternoon of June 6, where they found Hanlon dead inside the residence.

An examination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death was multiple sharp-force injuries and ruled the manner of death a homicide.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Chester Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the case.

Prosecutors said no additional information is being released to protect the integrity of the investigation.
