Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon will host its annual Independence Day fireworks celebration on Saturday, July 4, with proceeds from parking benefiting Vernon’s volunteer first responders.

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the Great Lawn outside Red Tail Lodge at the resort, with fireworks scheduled from 9:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Guests can enjoy live music, food vendors, a biergarten, family activities including bounce houses and a petting zoo, and lawn games. The resort will also offer Sky Ride access through 8 p.m. with admission, while Alpine Mountain Coaster rides will be available for purchase separately.

Participating volunteer fire departments from Vernon, McAfee, Highland Lakes and Pochuck Valley will collect a $20 parking fee per vehicle. Mountain Creek said 100% of the parking proceeds will go to the volunteer fire departments. The annual event raised more than $20,000 for the departments in 2025, with additional proceeds benefiting Vernon Emergency Medical Services.

The resort encourages attendees to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs. Live music will be provided by the alternative rock band Emotional Damage.
