Gov. Chris Christie's administration says New Jersey now expects to collect up to $200 million in additional revenue between now and June 30.
Christie is proposing to use the windfall toward pensions for public workers.
The additional sum, if achieved, is still just one-eighth of the nearly $1.6 billion that a Superior Court judge ordered lawmakers to pay into the system after more than a dozen public sector unions sued.
The administration has appealed and arguments in the case are scheduled to be heard by the state Supreme Court Wednesday.
A spokesman for Christie says the governor is committed to making as large a pension payment as possible. But Christie says the state can't afford the full sum he had agreed to during his first term.
