It's been less than a year since the last state government shutdown.
Gov. Phil Murphy is now preparing state agencies for a possible closing this year.
Lawmakers are currently negotiating a budget.
On Thursday, Senate President Steve Sweeney said he'd be willing to shut down if a school funding compromise isn't reached.
They have 30 days to get something done.
