Bly, a reporter for the New York World left on a ship from Hoboken in 1890 to head to Europe. From there she took a train across Asia, sailed on another ship and took another train across the United States.
Her trip ended Jan. 25, 1890 in Jersey City. It took 72 days and six hours to complete.
A lithograph of the reception of her return was created to celebrate the occasion.
Bly was the first woman to complete the journey. Her trip started and ended in New Jersey.
