NJ Attorney General investigates death of man in police custody

The preliminary investigation found that there was no use of force during the man's arrest.

New Jersey's Attorney General's Office is investigating the death of a 51-year-old man who died this weekend while in police custody.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested by a state trooper during a traffic stop. Shortly after he was placed in the police cruiser, officials say he suffered some kind of medical emergency.

The trooper and other first responders tried to revive the man, but he later died at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation found that there was no use of force during the man's arrest.
