News 12 helps residents trapped on street due to downed trees, power lines
Residents who live on a dead-end road along Shenandoah Place in Morristown reached out to News 12 Sunday for help with their inaccessible roadway.
The residents said they couldn't get their cars out of their driveways for the last five days because of downed trees, a downed power line and snow from the last nor'easter.
Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty arrived at the scene after News 12 New Jersey gave him a call.
Dougherty said he also had a hard time getting a response from the utility about the roadway and others.  He told the utility that News 12 News Jersey was working on the story.
Soon after, the linemen showed up on Shenandoah Place, removed the downed wire and were able to open up the roadway.
Dougherty says he hopes he will be able to sit down with the state and the utility company to find out what they can do to improve their response time.
