Newburgh man pleads guilty to assault for shooting wife with BB gun, striking her with weapon

The victim's 7-year-old child witnessed the incident and called police, according to the Orange County district attorney.

A Newburgh man has pleaded guilty to second-degree assault for shooting his wife with a BB gun and striking her with it.
Officials say Steven Lillo got into an argument with his wife in July 2021, grabbed the weapon, shot her five times then used the weapon to strike her.
The victim's 7-year-old child witnessed the incident and called police, according to the Orange County district attorney.
Officials say Lillo faces up to seven years in prison when sentenced.
