A collapsed drainpipe has closed some lanes on Interstate 80 in Morris County, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
The DOT says that the left lane and shoulder are closed on the eastbound side of the highway near milepost 37. The lanes will remain closed while crews make repairs.
It was unclear why the drainpipe collapsed.
Repairs are expected to last through the overnight hours.
The damage comes as parts of I-80 have been closed for months in nearby Wharton due to a series of sinkholes that have formed.
At least three sinkholes have developed on the highway this year.
Officials have said that the sinkholes were caused by abandoned mines underneath the highway.
