AAA says the best time to leave today is before 12 p.m. or after 9 p.m. Today is the busiest travel day for drivers ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
The holiday falls on a Friday this year. AAA is projecting record high numbers this year for Fourth of July travel, with a predicted 1.7 million more travelers than last year. Around 6.1 million people are expected to be driving to their holiday destinations.
