A new meal delivery program is coming to Paterson next week as part of a partnership between the Paterson School District and United Way.
Families who live more than a mile away from one of the city's eight meal sites can get food delivered directly to their home.
Parents just have to fill out a form online, and they'll get meals delivered seven days a week.
"Increasing the number of kids who get school meals is so important, not only because we know the link between hunger and learning. Obviously, when kids are fed, they can learn better, but also we think that when children know that the school district and the community cares about them, they will stay engaged with their work," says Yvonne Zuidema, President and CEO of United Way of Passaic County.
The program will last through at least the end of the year.
