New Jersey’s most popular baby names for 2025 released

Nationally, Liam and Olivia were the most popular baby names in the U.S., according to the agency.

Liam and Emma were the most popular baby names in New Jersey in 2025, according to the Social Security Administration.

The agency released its annual list of top baby names Thursday. In New Jersey, the top five boys’ names were Liam, Noah, Lucas, Luca and Joseph. The top five girls’ names were Emma, Mia, Olivia, Sophia and Isabella.

Nationally, Liam and Olivia were the most popular baby names in the U.S., according to the agency.

The Social Security Administration began compiling baby names in 1997, with names dating back to 1880.
