A New Jersey resident has been sentenced to prison for the killings of two women in Rockland County.

Alan Abad, also known as Alina Abad, of Westwood, was sentenced to 25 years to life after pleading guilty to multiple murder charges, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II.

The sentence was handed down in Rockland County Court by Judge Kevin F. Russo.

Abad pleaded guilty to one count of murder in the first degree and two counts of murder in the second degree.

Prosecutors say the killings happened on Feb. 15, 2025, at a home in Spring Valley.

Officials say the victims, Evelyn Aguilar Agustin and Anabelly Aguilar, were Abad’s aunts and died after suffering blunt-force trauma.

The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office had recommended a maximum sentence of life without parole.

That request also included consecutive sentences of 25 years to life on the additional counts.

The court instead imposed a sentence of 25 years to life, making Abad eligible for parole at a later date.

District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II described the killings as brutal and offered condolences to the victims' family.
