The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program on Thursday held its summer lunch event in Florham Park.
The nonprofit, which puts the spotlight on women and young girls, recognizes women and the work they do, while encouraging more young girls to get into manufacturing careers.
"We know that manufacturing is a key part of New Jersey's economy and we're here to honor women, but also to show that when women are part of the decision making at companies, businesses are more profitable,” said NJEMP community relations & advocacy director Constantina Meis.
Eighty-five women in the manufacturing field were in attendance for the event.
