The company that owns Sears and Kmart plans to close 51 Sears stores and 45 Kmart locations in the latest round of closures.
Transformco, the company that acquired both store chains after bankruptcy, has plans to close the 96 locations, which include the Kmart in West Orange.
The stores are expected to start going-out-of-business sales on Dec. 2, before finally closing in February.
The two chains have closed more than 3,500 stores, and cut about 250,000 jobs in the past 15 years.
