Residents in Union County survived much more than just an afternoon thunderstorm after a tornado touched down Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says the tornado registered at EF-0, carrying 70 mph winds.
Viewer video shows the coil just briefly reached down from the clouds. It knocked out power along Springfield Avenue, and tore apart part of the roof and siding at an office.
It then traveled toward Route 22, pulling down power lines, more trees and damaged the roof at the Christmas Tree Shop.
The owner of C&M Refrigeration and Air Conditioning says he was forced to get a new roof after Superstorm Sandy. The tornado is now forcing him to get yet another roof on his building on Dundar Road.
The tornado only traveled about half a mile before running out of energy.
No injuries were reported.
