A Hackettstown man has been arrested and charged in connection with a bank robbery in Denville that resulted in the theft of about $6,000, authorities said.

Jason H. Perlett, 65, was charged with one count of robbery in connection with the March 23 incident, according to the Morris County Prosecutor.

Police received a report at about 4 p.m. of a robbery at the Bank of America branch at 125 East Main St. in Denville.

Investigators said a man entered the bank, handed a teller a note demanding money, and left with approximately $6,000 in cash. No weapon was displayed.

Authorities said the suspect fled the bank in a vehicle that was later spotted by state troopers traveling on Route 10 in Roxbury.

Roxbury police and state police conducted a traffic stop at about 5 p.m. and arrested the driver.

Investigators recovered alleged proceeds and other evidence from the vehicle.
