Anyone in New Jersey can get a
standard driver's license and ID card beginning Saturday, regardless of
immigration status.
The New Jersey
Motor Vehicle Commission is expanding the availability of standard driver
licenses and non-driver ID cards, implementing a law signed by Gov. Phil Murphy in Dec. 2019.
People will have to make an
appointment and complete the state's Graduated Driver License Program. They will receive a standard New Jersey
driver license or ID when the requirements are met.
