The state shutdown is over and state employees are back at work. Despite long lines at the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) office in Edison, people seemed happy to have it back in operation. MVC inspection stations are also up and running. They were all closed after the state failed to pass the budget on July 1. Residents say they're glad the shutdown is over and many say they feel it was a big waste of time and money. The MVC wants to remind drivers that all licenses, inspections, and registrations due at the end of June have been extended until July 31.
