Fire officials say a blaze destroyed two multi-family homes in New Brunswick Sunday, leaving at least 20 people homeless.
Officials are unsure how many people escaped the fire at 283 Towsend St. but were told by family members that everyone made it out safely. Residents say the fire started on the second floor of one home before spreading to the house next door.
Neighbors say firefighters from New Brunswick and Edison extinguished the flames. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
