A note threatening violence on campus for Thursday has led Montclair State University to increase security.
School officials say they don't see the threat as believable but are taking precautions regardless. Students were alerted through e-mail of an increased police presence on campus for April 10.
Only staff, students and faculty with university identification will be allowed on campus throughout the day. All outside activity, including a lacrosse game, has been canceled.
Police will also be randomly checking cars before allowing them onto campus. Students say they welcome the increased protection.
The threatening note was found in Dickson Hall Tuesday.
