Montclair State University has received its largest donation in the school's history.
An anonymous donor gave the school $20 million, which will go toward the business school to expand its programs.
As state funding decreases, University President Susan Cole says donations are critical.
"We increasingly rely on the generosity of private donors, foundations and corporations to help us provide the quality of education that people deserve," she says.
The university also wants to use the donation to strengthen its ties to local companies and to help graduates find jobs and internships.
