Montclair teachers have been hesitant to return to in-person learning during the pandemic. But the district now has a plan to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to the teachers.
The Montclair School District has teamed with Mountainside Medical Center to dole out the doses. The plan is to vaccinate up to 80 educators per week, starting next week.
“This is going to benefit, not only our community – everyone in our community – but also, most importantly, our children – our children of Montclair,” says Superintendent Jonathan C. Ponds. “Thank you all for showing a great example of when we come together, we can solve any problem.”
The president of the Montclair Education Association says that this news is the best anniversary gift. This week marks one year since the pandemic began.
