Monmouth County thieves now swiping car keys from inside homes, police say

There have been numerous incidents of home break-ins this summer where criminals are ultimately looking for keys to high-end vehicles, according to police in Holmdel.

Police in Monmouth County are warning that vehicle thefts in the area are now coming with a side of burglary.
There have been numerous incidents of home break-ins this summer where criminals are ultimately looking for keys to high-end vehicles, according to police in Holmdel.
There have been four incidents in just the last two weeks that ended in high-speed chases. One of the pursuits led to an officer being injured.
Police say seven vehicles were stolen in August 2022, with a total of 20 for the year so far.
