Heavy rain caused flooding at a Plainfield animal shelter. All animals were saved, but the shelter now urgently needs donations for supplies.

The shelter director of operations, Josh Reyes, said the storm caused more damage than Hurricane Ida.

"I mean, it affected us tremendously. We definitely got hit worse than Hurricane Ida," Reyes said. "The water was up to about 4 feet. We came in from the park across the street to rescue the animals. We were able to save all the animals, but unfortunately, all of our supplies were destroyed and everything in the back of our property has also been destroyed."

Staff have since cleared most of the debris, but the shelter is now in urgent need of help. Hope 4 Paws is asking for donations to replace food, bedding, cleaning supplies and other essentials lost in the flood.
