Free COVID-19 testing in
Monmouth County has expanded for health
care workers and first responders.
Mobile testing will be
offered twice a week starting next Tuesday. Vaccine planning is also underway for
when one becomes available.
"The other thing about these vaccines, you know, some of them you
require one dose,” says Freeholder Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley. “Some of them you require two
doses. They'll be a lot of information put out for everyone to understand how
they can get the vaccine safely. They also have to be stored at minus 95
degrees. So, there is a lot of equipment we have to invest in, making sure they
get here and they are stored correctly. We know that once they thaw, they have
to be used within 24 hours."
The Monmouth County Health
Department has officially been listed as a vaccine provider.
