A wedding ring lost over a decade ago was found on a Warren County Christmas tree farm.
The ring belonged to David Penner of Great Meadows and is engraved with the message "To David. From Nancy."
Penner says that he lost the ring 15 years ago while buying a Christmas tree at the Wyckoff Christmas Tree Farm in White Township. He says that he initially searched frantically for the ring, and even put an ad in the newspaper, but it was not found and he never bothered to get it replaced.
Then this past spring, farm owner John Wyckoff says that he was planting trees when he came across the missing band. The farm is 170 acres with about 65,000 trees.
"That's a needle in 10 haystacks," Wyckoff says.
Penner says that finding the ring is a miracle, especially since his wife of 42 years died this past fall.
"It was kind of a nice warm feeling. It just felt like the beginning of our marriage and yeah just like our life together was back," Penner says.
Wyckoff says that while he has found several lost items on his farm over the years, he's never found anything else with this much importance.
