Seneca High School in Tabernacle, Burlington County is hoping to ease the stress students face with a new form of therapy.

Meet Penny – the Goldendoodle.

She's a certified therapy dog, and now a part of the Seneca family -- a new addition this year after the school tested out a therapy dog program last year.

"Everybody kept asking when are they coming back in, when are they coming back in," says Alexis Cuneo, Student Assistance Coordinator.

Penny visits with students during lunch, walks the halls, and comforts students who may come to the guidance office for help.

"When I first met Penny I was having a really rough day and I came to see Miss Cuneo and didn't know she had a dog,” says Mahya Martinez, a senior at the high school. “I came in and Penny was there and I was so happy just stress relieving to see a dog."

For some, it’s as simple as a smile, while others – it may be more.
