Mayor Bill de Blasio says that Citi Field will be used as a mega vaccination center for city residents by the end of the month.
The mayor says the baseball stadium will open during the week of Jan. 25 to vaccinate between 5,000 and 7,000 New York residents a day.
De Blasio also says that people who live and work in shelters and grocery store workers are now eligible for vaccinations along with the other people in group 1A and group 1B.
The mayor says the added sites are a great addition, but is calling on the federal government to step in so the city will have enough vaccines to meet the new demand.
