First responders help deliver baby at Manhasset home: A group of first reponders in Nassau helped to bring a new life into the world on Saturday morning. Police say they were called to a home on Locust Place in Manhasset. That's where they found a woman in labor, and within a minute she delivered a baby girl.
Bronx woman powers through stereotypes by figure skatingA Bronx woman shared her journey on social media of how she overcame stereotypes to enjoy a sport she loves. Daphnie Vega says she never considered herself a "skinny" girl as she grew up, but she always admired figure skating – even though she says it is stereotypically known as a "skinny sport."
Plaintiffs in federal discrimination lawsuit against DOT speak to News 12State workers named in a federal lawsuit spoke to News 12 Saturday about what they say is the "rampant racial discrimination" in the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Road-maintenance workers say the suit alleges ongoing racial mistreatment of minority employees at a Milford DOT facility. The lawsuit in U.S. District Court seeks financial damages. Those bringing the action say they've had to put up with their superior’s racial slurs.
NYC man shot in Poughkeepsie but is not cooperating with policeA New York city man was shot in Poughkeepsie over the weekend. Police say they responded to a call just before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday about a possible shooting near Mill Street and North Clover. A 35-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital. They say the victim is not cooperating with the investigation.
Police: 5 killed, including child, when SUV and construction vehicle collide on Route 3:  Police in Rutherford say five people, including a child, were killed when an SUV crashed into the rear of a construction vehicle on Route 3. According to authorities, the crash happened Sunday shortly before 11 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway. Authorities say a man, three women and a young boy, all in the SUV, were killed in the crash. The identities of the victims have not been released.
