An overnight fire has left a popular Morris County cafe heavily damaged and a neighboring business scrambling to recover.
Emergency crews responded to the scene in downtown Denville early Tuesday morning after smoke began filling the commercial building.
The incident began at approximately 12:30 a.m. when Denville police responded to reports of smoke at the site of Cafe Crevier.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found an active fire, prompting a swift escalation to a three-alarm response. The Denville Fire Department arrived shortly after and fought the flames to bring the fire under control.
Officials confirmed that the blaze caused significant structural and interior damage to Cafe Crevier.
The fire also impacted neighboring businesses along the downtown strip. Chocolatine, an adjoining bakery, suffered minor damage. No injuries have been reported.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Local fire officials are actively investigating the origin of the blaze.
