An 18-year-old Marlboro man died after a box truck crashed into a dump truck on Route 9 in Old Bridge Friday morning.
A spokesperson for the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office says that Adam Rarela was a passenger in the box truck. The dump truck was stopped at a red light near the interaction of Old Mill Road just before 7 a.m. when the crash occurred.
Rarela was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The driver of the dump truck was taken to Raritan Bay Medical Center to be treated and is expected to be OK.
Route 9 was closed for a while after the crash, leading to some delays in traffic.
Police say that no charges were filed
