A vote on the legalization of recreational marijuana may not come until 2019, according to some New Jersey lawmakers.

Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin met with Gov. Phil Murphy Thursday for a closed-door meeting in his office that lasted several hours.

The trio discussed a timetable for marijuana legalization, but no decisions were made. Legislators had hoped to vote on legalizing marijuana by the end of October. But that vote was postponed and may not take place until early next year.

The lawmakers also focused on increasing New Jersey’s minimum wage. Gov. Murphy wants to see the wage raised to $15 an hour.

Sweeney and Coughlin said that no agreement had been reached but that progress is being made.
