A swim school in Manalapan is teaching important lessons to kids of all abilities.
A recent study from Columbia University showed children with autism are 160 times more likely to drown than the general pediatric population.
The Goldfish Swim School teaches all kids water safety skills, including getting in and out of the pool safely, floating on their backs and breathing underwater.
"We try to keep them in the same class as other kids that age so they can learn from those other children,” says Hans Stockman, GM of Goldfish Swim School of Manalapan. “There's a lot of science that shows children learn by watching other children perform in the water.

Stockman says their teacher to student ratios are low, at one to four.
The school is turning one next month and will celebrate with a big pool party, which will include plenty of swim safety demonstrations!
