An Elizabeth man sprung into action when flames broke out in his apartment building early Sunday morning.
It happened on the 200 block of Pine Street. The fire sparked when most people were sleeping, but resident Bradley Noel was up with his son and heard the fire alarm.
He not only got his family to safety, but started banging on doors, went back up to get his neighbors and then helped another family -- including a baby -- get off a fire escape.
"God puts people in places all the time. Thank God I'm an early morning person, I was up, I was active," says Noel. "I don't really think in situations like this, I just act.  One person is out, then it's next person, next person, next person."
The Red Cross tells News 12 it is now assisting several families affected by the fire.
