Police in New Brunswick are looking for a man they say shot and injured a Rutgers student outside a party Friday night.
The shooting happened at 1:30 a.m. outside 122 Hamilton St.
Police say eight to 10 men who are not Rutgers students tried to get into a fraternity party. When they were denied access, a fight broke out.
That is when police say they shooter pulled out a black handgun and fired one to two rounds.
Student Brandon Carey was hit, but is OK.
Police describe the suspect as 5 foot 7 with shoulder-length dreadlocks and wearing a white baggy shirt.
Some of the area fraternities told News 12 they are canceling parties scheduled for Saturday night.
