A man charged this summer in the death of an 11-year-old Keansburg girl entered a plea of not guilty Monday morning at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold.
Andreas Erazo is accused of stabbing Abbiegail Smith to death and then leaving her body wrapped in blanket on a rear roof of Keansburg’s Hancock Arms Apartment complex where they both lived. Erazo was Abbiegail’s upstairs neighbor.
Erazo was charged with murder back in July, and just last week, a grand jury indicted him on sex assault charges.
After an earlier hearing in the case, Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni said this was one of the worst cases he's ever seen.
The list of charges and the indictment against Erazo were not read in court Monday. His next scheduled appearance is scheduled for Dec. 11.
