A man has been charged in the attempted sexual assault of woman while she was walking to church in Englewood, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced Monday.
Margarito Hernandez-Valladeres, 23, of Englewood, faces charges of attempted sexual assault, criminal restraint and criminal sexual contact.
Authorities said Hernandez-Valladeres attempted to sexual assault an 83-year-old woman in July as she was walking to a church in Englewood. Police had released surveillance footage of the attack.
Hernandez-Valladeres was arrested last Thursday and arraigned in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on Friday.
